Prostate Cancer Cases Rising In Rural India; Foods To Reduce The Risk
Know the reasons why prostate cancer risk is rising in rural India.
Prostate cancer is one of the leading cancer found in men. According to a new study it has been found that the number of prostate cancer cases are rising in rural India.
Meanwhile the number of prostate cancer cases are likely to double by 2020 as per the Cancer projection data.
"Most of the metastatic prostate cancer cases are from rural areas. Therefore, it's a challenge to government and doctors to decrease the risk factors and take prostate cancer risk in the rural areas very seriously," P.N. Dogra, Professor and Head of Urology at AIIMS stated.

The rural masses need to be made aware of the treatment, drugs and technologies to combat the disease.
According to the Population Based Cancer Registries in Delhi, the disease is the second most frequently diagnosed cancer among men in the national capital, accounting for about 6.78 per cent of all malignancies.
Here are a few foods that help to reduce the risk of prostate cancer. Take a look.

Low-fat Diet:
Avoid foods that are high in fat content and include foods that are low in fat. This helps to prevent weight gain, keep your heart healthy and prevents the risk of prostate cancer.

Fruits & Vegetables:
Fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins and essential minerals that are essential to keep your body healthy and thus help in reducing the risk of prostate cancer. Add more of fruits and vegetables in your daily diet.

Olive Oil:
Olive oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids which is a good fat. It has been found that the omega-3 fats helps in keeping off prostate cancer.

Brazil Nuts:
Nuts like Brazil nuts are rich in selenium. Selenium is one of the most important minerals for protection against prostate cancer. Having Brazil nuts on a regular basis helps.

Soy Products:
Studies have found that isoflavones found in soy protein helps in preventing inflammation and the spread of prostate cancer
