She walked into the success celebration for Maa Inti Bangaaram in Hyderabad, with a visible baby bump and all, and chose to say it herself. "After Maa Inti Bangaaram, I will have to take a small break, given my condition. I'll have to take maternity leave. After that I'll be back with another film for my fans." A quiet announcement. A full-circle moment.

A Love Story That Started on Set

Samantha and Raj Nidimoru first crossed paths during the shooting of The Family Man Season 2, where the actress played the role of Raji. They became close friends, and their bond deepened further during their collaboration on Citadel: Honey Bunny.

They married in an intimate ceremony on 1 December 2025, at the Linga Bhairavi Temple within the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore - a private ritual, away from flashbulbs and fanfare. Six months later, they are expecting.

A source close to the couple told HT City: "Yes, it is true. The couple is truly delighted for this new beginning, and they will make an announcement in some time."

The Timing Couldn't Be More Beautiful

The pregnancy news arrived at one of the most professionally triumphant moments of Samantha's life. Maa Inti Bangaaram, directed by B.V. Nandini Reddy and written by Raj Nidimoru, was produced under their joint production house Tralala Moving Pictures. The film crossed the 50-crore mark globally since its 19 June release.

Director Nandini Reddy, speaking to Cinema Express, confirmed the pregnancy and said: "Her pregnancy comes at a beautiful time, as our film Maa Inti Bangaaram has become a success."

The film marks the biggest opening for a single, female-led film for Samantha - a significant commercial comeback after her battle with Myositis, the autoimmune condition she was diagnosed with in 2022.

Motherhood: Something She Always Wanted

Those close to the couple say both Samantha and Raj are overjoyed - "especially Samantha, who always wanted to become a mother."

In a 2024 interview, when asked whether age was a barrier to motherhood, Samantha made it clear she didn't think it was too late and said she was looking forward to embracing it.

As per inside sources, the baby is due in December 2026.

Bottomline

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has spent the last few years rebuilding her health, her career, and her sense of self. That she arrives at this moment with a blockbuster film, a husband who is also her creative partner, and a baby on the way feels less like a coincidence and more like something that was earned. The maternity break she has announced isn't a pause. It's the next scene in a story that keeps getting better.
