10 Shocking Things At Home That Are Dirtier Than Your Toilet
Imagine the dirtiest place in your home. 80 out of a hundred would have thought of their toilet. You think it contains a whole lot of germs, much more than any other place in your home.
13 Things That Make Us Truly Indian
But what if we tell you that the opposite is actually true? What if we tell you that your toilet is actually cleaner than say, your kitchen or the carpet spread back home? You would disagree, but it is the truth. The cellphone you use, the wallets that you carry around or the TV remote you use everyday contains a lot more germs are much dirtier than your toilet.
You are perhaps still baffled as to how the toilet is a cleaner place than all these things. The answer is quite simple. We make an effort to clean the toilet but we seldom clean the things mentioned on this list. We just assume these things to be clean. Don't live under that assumption anymore.
Today we at Boldsky educate you on some of the things at home that are dirtier than your toilet. Read on and keep your family safer.
Cellphones
The mobile phone that you use daily contains supposedly have 500 times more harmful germs than your toilet. So, next time you give blow kisses to your sweetheart over the phone, make sure that your cellphone is either disinfected or just settle for making kissing sounds!
Computer/Laptop Keyboard
Have a habit of working on your laptop during eating hours? Don't! Apparently the keyboard of an office laptop contains as much as 200 times more bacteria than a toilet seat. Clean your keyboard once in a while. Will do you a world of good.
Cutting Board
Kitchen is a breeding ground for many kinds of bacteria. The cutting board that you use everyday contains more bacteria than a toilet seat! Thats like saying you are better off cutting your veggies and meat on the toilet seat. Clean the cutting board properly after use.
Carpets
The carpets that covers every inch of your home is dirtier than your toilet. It contains nearly 4000 times the germs a toilet holds. The sheer enormity of the carpet is evidence that it holds a variety of disease causing bacteria. Clean it thoroughly once in a while.
Kitchen Sink
The kitchen sink drain that you rarely give a second thought before throwing the dishes in, has about 5,00,000 bacteria per square inch. As we said earlier, a good kitchen takes a lot of work to maintain. So, clean the kitchen sink regularly.
TV Remote
TV remote is a device which you probably handle even while eating. But imagine all the things it comes on contact with: your food, sweat, so many hands! Should we go on? We guess not. Clean that remote with a cotton dipped in some disinfectant.
Women's Office-Desks
A woman's work desk is apparently 3-4 times dirtier than a man's. To put that in perspective, a man's desk is 100 times more dirtier than a toilet seat. Though we're bad math we guess that makes a woman's desk 300-400 times dirtier than a man's desk.
Men's Wallets
To balance the equation, we should mention that the men aren't far behind. Men's wallet are moist, warm places for bacteria to breed. Not to mention the currency notes that are passed on from hand to hand. Come on, clean up dude!
Toothbrushes
Germs are known to travel quite a lot for their tiny stature. Hence, it's not really wise to keep your toothbrush in the bathroom where you bathe, flush and stuff. It's a good idea to wash your toothbrush before brushing.
The Door Knob
A door knob is something which everyone has access to. Imagine all the people who hold it, transferring the germs from their hands. This is particularly bad because the variety of bacteria can be huge! Lend it a cleaning hand once in a while.
