What Type Of Vegetarian Are You?
A hardcore non-vegetarian must be baffled by this headline. This is because according to non-vegetarian, there are only two kinds of people in the world; normal people and vegetarians! But sorry to disappoint you guys, even within the ‘ghass pus' (grass) eating people, there are types. There are types of vegetarian who follow certain rules of diet. The different kind of vegetarian foods that these vegetarians eat decides what category they come under.
The different types of vegetarians are just as different from each other as the meat loving Punjabis and fish loving coastal people. Food is a choice that tells a lot about one's culture. Especially in India, we have a complex cultural background associated with vegetarianism. Here are the main types of vegetarians who can be set into the following categories.
7 SILLIEST THINGS VEGETARIANS HEAR ALL THE TIME

Eggitarians
Ever heard of someone saying, ‘I am almost a vegetarian'. In India, this means that you eat only eggs and nothing else from the non-vegetarian platter. The logic behind being an eggitarian is that milk comes from cows and eggs come from chicken. So if you can drink milk, why can't you have eggs?
Fishitarians
No, do not be amazed. Some communities in India like the Bengalis claim that fish is actually a fruit of the river. So even Brahmins are permitted to eat fish!
Vegetarians
A normal vegetarian in India eats all the vegetables including onions and garlic. They also drink milk and eat dairy products.
Jains
A Jain diet is a very strict one. Jains usually do not eat anything that grows under the earth because eating these root vegetables means killing the entire plant. So they do not eat onions, garlic, potatoes. The Jain diet, however, includes milk because you do not have to kill the cow to get milk.
Vegans
Veganism is not just a diet but a lifestyle choice. A vegan person would not eat or use anything that comes from animals. So vegans do not drink milk or use leather, fur or eat dairy products, food items that include animal fats like chocolates.
Apart from these wide varieties of vegetarians, there are also dubious vegetarians who are vegetarian at home and willing to eat non-vegetarian food outside home, especially if no one is watching. There are also ‘organic' vegetarians who are willing to pay enormous amounts of money for ‘pro-biotic' food that is grown in organic farms.
