Stereotypes are the views or perspective about a particular group of people. There are many types of myths that people have in their minds. For example, there are some stereotypes about Asians which can be really funny or surprising.

For example, one of the most common stereotypes about Asians is that Asian men are considered as chauvinists. This are perceived to be irrational and disrespectful towards women. Moreover, Asian men are named misogynistic and portrayed as a threat to the white women.

They Look Alike: Is it so? Well we didn't know that Chinese and Indians look alike! It might sound funny, but this is one of the most common stereotypical thought people hold about Asians.

All Asians Are Mathematicians: People in other countries take Asians as the Maths gurus who can solve difficult sums and calculate with just a blink of an eye.

Asian Parents Are Conservative: It is the culture and traditions that have kept the parents strict and conservative. That is why marriages and other relationships are more successful in the Asian countries.

Asians Are Either Engineers Or Doctors: Well, Asians are also good in other fields. Be it hotel management or business, men and women are competing against each other to achieve success in different fields.

Muslims And Sikhs Are Same: Western people have this common stereotype about Asians. This may be due to their physical appearances. Both Sikhs and Muslims have long beard, almost similar turbans and they wear kurta and pyjamas. This stereotype is quite silly as both belong to different communities and have different religious groups. So, there is no scope of having any commonality.

Asians Are Poor: Except Arab, other Asian countries are considered poor. This stereotypical thought may be because Asian countries are still developing and counted amongst the third World Countries. Gambling magnate Lui Che-woo, Li Ka-shing, Mukesh Ambani, Lakshmi Mittal and many other rich Asians belong to countries like Hong Kong and India.
