The World awaits 23rd February for the 83rd Oscar Awards and maybe a list of Celebrity divorces. As the tinsel town gets all set to compete and win over the Oscar trophy, the Oscar curse also lurks nearby the married couples.
Oscar which is the epitome of acting achievement has always left a sad trail for married couples. If history is to be taken as a prove, Oscar Awards have always ended with the divorce of celebrity couples. The Oscar divorce has been present since the year 1938.

Lets look at some of the major Oscar Divorces -

1.Bette Davis And Harmon Nelson – The first case of Oscar divorce was in the year 1938, Harmon was blessed with two awards. When one Oscar has the ability to create a split, two was a curse. Bette and Harmon soon got divorced in 1938. Bette Davis went on to have three more husbands and ended up in a final divorce in 1960.

2.Joan Crawford and Philip Terry - Joan Crawford had been married four times. She had just settled down in life with Phillip Terry when the Awards happened and their marriage became an example of Oscar curse. This happened in 1948.

Talking of more recent time -

3.Helen Hunt – She tried her best to avoid the curse. She got engaged to long time love Hank Azarie in 1997, won the award in 1998, tied the knot in 1999 but still could not get saved. She filed a divorce 17 months later.

4.Halle Berry – One of the most reputed actresses Halle Berry also was a victim. Halle Berry won the award in 2002. Since then marital problems started and in 2003, she got divorced from her husband Eric Benet, due to sex addiction problem.

5.Resse Witherspoon – Resse Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe were one of the cutest couple of Hollywood. After she won the award, divorce became inevitable. The couple separated in October 2006 and finalised the divorce in 2008.

6.Kate Winslet And Sam Mendes – Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes have been married for seven years before getting struck with Oscar curse. She won an award in 2009 and got divorced in 2010.

7.Sandra Bullock - The most perfect couple of Hollywood, Sandra Bullock and Jesse James. During Sandra Bullock's speech, Jesse James was seen in tears of emotions. This melted many hearts. But the curse spares no one. Jesse James infidelity was proved and Sandra Bullock filed a divorce in April and confirmed in June.

These seven cases of Oscar Divorces leads one to question, who is the next? or the the whole belief of Oscar divorce is a fact or a myth? What do you think?
