Nupur Sanon and Stebin Ben’s Hindu Wedding: Tradition, Rituals and Celebration
After the series of dreamy wedding celebrations, Nupur Sanon and Stebin Ben ended their nuptials with a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony and placed emphasis on rituals and traditions in the ceremony. In the background of festivities, the ceremony reflected the extent to which the traditions are entrenched in the culture of Indians when it comes to their wedding celebrations.
A Multicultural Wedding Celebration
It wasn't a single ritual for the couple's big weekend in Udaipur; rather, it was a blend of meaningful ceremonies. After exchanging vows in a Christian ceremony earlier in the celebrations, the couple celebrated Nupur's roots with a full Hindu wedding, featuring classic rituals like pheras around the sacred fire.
Traditional Elements of a Hindu Wedding
Baraat and Groom's Entry
Stebin arrived with the baraat, a joyful procession filled with music and dancing, before making his way to the mandap, the wedding altar.
Bridal Entry with Phoolon Ki Chadar
Nupur made a traditional entry, walking to the mandap under a phoolon ki chadar, or a canopy of flowers, which symbolises purity and a new beginning.
Pheras Around the Fire
The highlight of the ritual was the seven pheras, which refer to the sacred circles that the newlyweds perform around the fire, with each promise of the vow being the guarantee of love, support, and companionship. This ritual forms the core of Hindu weddings and serves as the bonding ritual for the newlyweds.
Attire with Cultural Symbolism
For the Hindu ceremony, Nupur wore a red and orange embroidered lehenga, colours linked to prosperity and marital happiness, while Stebin chose an ivory sherwani with a traditional turban.
Celebration and Joy
This environment is characterised by dances and the celebration of the unity between the two people, with family members also rejoicing at the union. Stebin is seen dancing at the ceremony to the classic Bollywood songs played at weddings.
Family and Festive Vibes
Nupur's sister, actress Kriti Sanon, was prominent throughout the events, taking an active part in the pre-wedding ceremonies, as well as acting as the bridesmaid in major ceremonies.
A Beautiful Blend of Traditions
With the celebrations of the Christian ritual and the Hindu wedding, Nupur and Stebin's celebrations not only represented their story but also the modern story of the beauty of cultural diversity, and their wedding became an amalgamation of love, tradition, and celebrations.
