This famous temple in India is situated on the mountains of Maihar near Satna district in Bhopal. This famous temple is of Goddess ‘Sharda'. The name of the temple 'Maihar' means ‘Maa ka haar', which in other words means Goddess' garland.

The Belief About The Temple...
It is claimed that there are many ancient stories about this temple. Many people claim these beliefs to be true. It is believed that nobody can stay in the temple at night. If they do, there are chances of the person even dying.
The Reason Behind The Belief...
The reason behind this belief is claimed to be that of the existence of two immortal souls namely Aalha and Udam who're believed to be the greatest devotees of Goddess Sharda.
These two immortal souls are believed to have fought a battle against Prithviraj Chauhan. It is also believed that these two people were first to find this ‘Maihar Devi' temple on the mountains.
The Temple Is Closed At Night
The temple is closed at night, as it is believed that these two brothers visit the temple in the night and they dress up Goddess and worship her. That is why it is believed that nobody is allowed to stay in the temple during the night. And if anybody do so, they'd have to lose their life!
