What could the longest train for a bridal gown be? Looks like the answer is, somewhere around 3 kilometeres to precise! Romania has just broke the previously held record for the lengthiest bridal train and the new figure is 1.85 miles! That means that the bridesmaids will have to stand in the next block while the bride walks the aisle.

The Longest Flying Train:
So how did people actually see the longest train in the world. They definitely could not see it all at once. The creators of this designer bridal gown came up with an innovative plan to display their creation. The model wearing the dress with a bridal train of 3 kilometres was flown in a hot air balloon at a central location of Bucharest. So the crowd of the capital city of Romania saw the record breaking dress floating above them with it's fluttering train on Tuesday, 2 March 2012. This happened even as Guinness Book of World Records declared this to be the longest ever train for any dress in the world.

The Details Of The Record Dress:
The dress that created history definitely deserves the honour of being discussed in details. It has been announced that the designer bridal gown took 100 days to design with 10 expert seamstresses working on it consistently. The fabric is a Italian while the lace, which is crème della crème was brought in from France. The material itself amounted to $7,364.48. For a dress with a bridal train that long, that isn't much, is it?

The Makers Of The Flying Train:
The creation of the beautifully bizarre record was not without a bit of spite. The dress with the bridal train apparently was a rude answer to Netherlands. As it unfolds, the Dutch held the previous record for the longest train of a gown. Now that the two nations of Romania and Netherlands are having struggle for powder in Europe, the record is here to score brownie points.

Romania accuses the Dutch of deliberately keeping their country and neighbour Bulgaria out of the European Union. This does not give them the opportunity use the currency Euro and travel without visa in the other states. West European snub, is it? So the Romanian designers decided that if they do not have a way in, they surely have a way out. And that is by designing a dress with the longest train in the world.
