Lady Gaga, The Fashion Revolutionary Icon

Lady Gaga has undoubtedly proved to be an icon this year with her sweet gesture of launching a bracelet to save Japan victims. And now the poker face singer has been named as the US style icon by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

Lady Gaga, according to contactmusic.com, will be bestowed the style icon awards at an event in New York in June. Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, for their 4-year-old womenswear "The Row", have been nominated for the Swarovski Award.

“We are particularly proud of each designer nominated for a Swarovski Award," CFDA Vice President Nadja Swarovski said in a release. “They are the perfect example of emerging American design talent and have displayed a keen sense for the future of fashion."

With Lady Gaga, designers Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang and Jason Wu have been nominated in the Competitive Womenswear Designer of the Year category and will be garnered with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga's new single has reportedly been censored by the Malaysian radio stations as the song is more like a "Gay Anthem" having many references of homosexuality. While the 24-yr-old star's "Born This Way" has topped all charts around the world.
