The 73-year old Fritzl coul earn up to a million pounds from buyers who plan to turn the property into a museum. He is awaiting trail for rape, incest, kidnap, false imprisonment and slavery.
Fritzl committed the brutal act of repeatedly raping his own daughter, Elizabeth, now 42 and fathered seven children with her. He took three of the children to live with his 'normal' family above the basement. He is charged with murdering his child Michael, who died due to medical ignorance by Fritzl.
The Austrian law permits him to sell the property in Amstetten from prison. "It will be put up for sale after the trial," said mayor Herbert Katzengruber.
One insider said: "There is a massive interest in what went on here. Some people think they could turn the building into a money-spinner if they could get permission to open it to the public." AGENCIES
