Yoga Guru Swami Ram Dev received the prestigious Samanvaya Award this afternoon in Amrit Mahotsav organized here to mark the 75th birth anniversary of the former Shankaracharya Jagatguru Swami Satyamitranand Giriji Maharaj.
The award, instituted by Bharat Mata Mandir and the Samanvaya Trust, is given every year to an individual for his/her outstanding contribution in the fields of culture, literature, education, social service etc.
The award, which carried a citation, a shawl and a cheque of Rs 1 lakh, was presented to Swami Ram Dev by the former Shankaracharya and the founder of the Bharat Mata Mandir for bringing about a yoga revolution in the country and abroad.
