All Manipur Anti-Drug Association (AMADA)
Imphal, Oct 27 (UNI) The All Manipur Anti-Drug Association (AMADA), an Ngo, has decided to intensify its current campaign against abuse of drugs and ensure total prohibition of liquor in the state.
An AMADA diktat also served on some people saying that those who found drinking liquor or taking drugs to take a pledge through newspapers' advertisement that they will never repeat the act or else face penalty.
Manipur is a dry state but the local brews are in high demand among the pople, an AMADA member said.
The militant groups here have already banned use of liquor, zarda and other intoxicant susbtances and warned taht if anyone found taking those things would face severe punishment.
AMADA member Th Rabango Mangang today said that a large consignment of whisky and beer coming from Moreh, Manipur-Myanmar border, was seized from a vehicle.
