York Chocolate Cat: The Intelligent
There are number-less varieties of cat breeds. The breeds are categorized upon the looks and habits. York chocolate is a new breed originated in United States and holds the name from the place of origin. Soft furred, cute and intelligent York Chocolates are perfect pets to have in your home.
The York Chocolate Cat is a new American breed of show cat, with a long, fluffy coat and a plumed tail. The first part of its name is taken from New York state, where it was bred in 1983. This breed was created by color-selecting domestic long haired cats, and as the name suggests, all members of this breed are solid chocolate or lavender, solid chocolate and white, or lavender and white.
The York Chocolate cat is a medium to large cat with a rounded head and a moderately long muzzle. They have large, almond-shaped eyes that are either gold or green. Their bodies are big-boned and muscular, with long necks. The eyes are almond-shaped with color ranging from green, gold, or hazel. The cats have big fluffy tails, tufted feet, and sometimes ruffs. The coat is semi-long haired and very fine. It is either solid chocolate, solid lavender, white and chocolate, or white and lavender. The medium-long, glossy coat is silky and does not require a great deal of grooming because the thin undercoat does not tend to mat as is the case with many other long-haired breeds. The kittens are much lighter, and tabby markings and tipping is acceptable until the kitten reaches 18 months of age.
York Chocolate cats are lap cats in every sense of the word. They love to be held and cuddled and are very playful and affectionate. They are also energetic and good hunters. Intelligent and inquisitive, York Chocolates like to be involved in human activities and are aware of where their owners are at all times. They also have a fascination with water and if not monitored, might be tempted to enter a shower or bath with their owners. They usually bond with just one person in a family and tend to be cautious of strangers.
The York Chocolate occurred naturally as a working cat. This breed of cat is fairly new, dating back only to 1983. The very first York Chocolate kittens were born to housecoats on a dairy farm. The sire was a long haired black cat, the mother a black and white, also long haired. Created by colour-selecting domestic long haired cats, all members of the breed are solid chocolate or lavender, chocolate and white or lavender and white.
