Home remedies to remove soap scum is preferred over chemically treated products as the latter is more harmful. The chemical-based products leave behind deeper marks on the tiles, giving it an awkward impression.

All you have to do is mix 1/2 a cup of baking soda and ½ a cup of water to make a paste. Spread the baking soda paste onto a damp sponge and scrub it in a circular motion.

Vinegar
Mix up equal parts of white vinegar and hot water and pop it in a spray bottle. You can now spray down all the areas which has soap scum. Follow this method twice in a month to keep your bathroom clean and sparkling.

Lemon
Lemon juice is one of the best home remedies to get rid of soap scum in your bathroom. Mix lemon juice with hot water to make the scum loose and easier to remove.

Pumice Stone
Using pumice stones will leave behind a mark, so it can be used only on shower curtains and not on mirrors or tiles. After hot water is sprayed on the curtain, use the pumice stone to scrape it out.

Hot Water
Turn on the hot water in the shower and start cleaning off all surfaces using a clean sponge. The steam from hot water will loosen the dirt, oil and debris. Use a soft sponge to clean the wall, curtain and the mirror after five minutes.

Aerated Beverages
Aerated beverages contain a lot of acid which is why it is one of the best home remedies to get rid of soap scum in your bathroom. Spray the beverage over the scum directly and wipe off immediately with a soft sponge.

Ice Cubes
Ice cubes too can help to get rid of soap scum on bathroom curtains. Rub a handful of cubes on the curtain and brush it down simultaneously.

Coffee Granules
All you need to do is scrub the tiles of the bathroom with a handful of coffee powder. Although it is an expensive way to get rid of bathroom scum, it is very effective. It will also leave behind a lovely aroma.

Oil
Oil is another home remedy to remove soap scum from the bathroom tiles and shower curtains. Oil will help to remove the soap scum immediately, and for the next one week will also prevent the scum from appearing.

Dish-washing Liquid
Just soak a soft sponge in water, add in a few drops of dish washing detergent and start scrubbing the scum in circular motions until the shower doors and tiles are covered in the solution. This is one of the best ways to get rid of soap scum in your bathroom.

Toothpaste
The other best remedy to remove soap scum is with the help of toothpaste. Just like how you brush you teeth, brush down the scum in a circular motion.

Ammonia
Fill your bath tub with hot water and pour in 1 cup of ammonia in the tub. Allow the water to sit still until it cools. Now drain the water out of the tub and clean the soap scum with the help of a soft sponge.
