Tips To Cleaning Home For Christmas
1. The best to begin with cleaning is through uncluttering the house items. Some items may not belong to the room but would simply occupied space, these will have to be cleared and organised and put in their respective place. To start with, you need rubber gloves, an old piece of cloth or cotton napkin, a soap solution, old tooth brush and paper towels.
2. Your dusty curtains, table cloth, table napkins, carpets, mats require a wash, so place them in a laundry bag. If you have an alternative or special upholstery for Christmas, replace them and maintain by following day to day clean ups.
3. For Christmas, your entrance would be the highlight as most guests come in and wouldn't have to be stuck or hit by your coats, hangers and keys. Clear all the unnecessary items at the entrance. You can even carpet it to cover the bad flooring and make it more welcoming. Those daily winter wear can be enclosed in a collapsible rack.
4. Dust the ceiling, furniture, windows and walls. If you have tile flooring. Use your old toothbrush to remove the fine dirt between tiles. For wooden floor, it needs to be vacuum cleaned and wiped with a damp cloth (if the dirt is sticky). A swobber can be used to clean kitchen tile flooring.
5. To clean all the wine stains (on carpet and table cloth) that happened during the previous year's grand feast, add a few drops of white wine or vinegar. The white wine neutralises stain and can be absorbed with the help of paper towels.
6. To maintain a fresh fragrance at home, use potpurris, scented candles and incense sticks. The aroma prevents germs at home and also smell good.
Cleaning home during Christmas shouldn't be a painful task to homemakers but a way to lose weight and pass time. Listening to favourite music and asking your friends to assist you will not make holiday housekeeping very cumbersome.
