Ear wax, or what scientists call cerumen, is a yellowish waxy substance we often find in our ears. It's secreted by tiny glands in the ear canal. Ear wax is meant to protect the ear by coating the ear canal. The components of ear wax protect our ear canal from dirt, dust, bacteria, and even irritation from water exposure.
If you have been feeling discomfort lately or blocked from hearing, it is possible that a lot of wax has accumulated and needs some cleaning.
Here are a few quick and natural ways to get rid of ear wax.
#1 Hydrogen Peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is a very natural way of cleaning ear wax, even though the name sounds complex. The extra component of oxygen helps to dissolve the wax quickly and keeps infections at bay. Just take a cotton ball and dip it in the solution. Then clean your ears with the bud.
#2 Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is a very useful tool to clean ear wax as it contains medium chain fatty acids. It also helps to fight against infections and various bacteria. Just heat up some coconut oil and use a dropper to pour a few drops into your ear. Let it settle for 5 minutes and then clean it using a bud.
A mixture of vinegar and alcohol helps to dissolve the ear wax completely. Alcohol dries away in a while and the vinegar protects the ear from infections. Just mix the two solutions and use a bud to clean your ears with it.
#4 Almond Oil
Almond oil is another completely natural and safe way to remove the ear wax. It makes the hardened wax soft and helps in easy removal of it. Use the dropper to pour few drops at room temperature. Let it settle for a while before cleaning the wax out of your ear.
#5 Baby Oil
As funny as it might sound, baby oil can do wonders when it comes to cleaning wax. Put a few drops of baby oil into your ear and close the opening for a while. It will automatically clean the wax within and keep the eyes moist and soft. Baby oil is a petroleum product hence it helps to clean the wax.
#6 Baking Soda
Baking soda is a readily available natural therapy for earwax. It is an antiseptic that will also soften the earwax and prevents its future build-upof it. Soak half teaspoon of baking soda with water and put a few drops inside your ear. Let is stay there for a while before cleaning your ear with a soft cloth.
#7 Saline Water
Saline water helps in dissolving the ear wax as efficiently as other strong ear drops that are prescribed by the doctors. You will require one tablespoon of salt and dissolve it in water. Then soak the cotton ball in that water and pour drops into your ear. Remember to tilt your head or the water will just drain out. Repeat as and when required.

#9 Garlic Oil
Well this might sound little bizzare, but garlic oil is an excellent way to clean up ear wax.
Garlic contains allicin which makes it a natural antibiotic. It is really helpful for people who are trying to deal with pain due to ear wax. The oil works as the wax and the garlic works to fight any infections.
To prepare Garlic oil, take 3-4 garlic cloves and fry it in a pan till it turns blackish. When the cloves have absorbed the oil remove them and squeeze the buds gently to let the oil drip into your ears. It works best when applied before going to bed at night.
This ageold method will never disappoint you. Many other strong ear waxes contain glycerine in them which acts as softeners. Glycerin is a moist and effective lubricant. Just pour drops into your ears using a dropper. Keep it overnight for best results.
The next time you experience uncomfortable feelings of pain don't forget to try these remedies out which are purely natural and safe to be done at home for an effective result.
