Harsh chemicals in detergents can remain trapped in the fabric, causing skin irritation and contact dermatitis. Laundry detergents and fabric softeners can do more harm to you than good. The chemicals in the detergents can cause vaginal irritation, redness and infection.

5. Thongs:
Thongs tend to move back and forth more easily and increase the risk of cross contamination. The back and forth movement of the thongs can transport bacteria like E. coli from the back to the front, increasing your risk of urinary infections and bladder infections.

6. Repeated Wears:
The risk of an infection is even higher when you're wearing an underwear for a very long time. You must never repeat the same underwear again without washing it. There is a high chance of bacterial and fungal growth on the fabric itself and this exposes you to a high risk of infections.
