Treat Sleeplessness With These Ingredients
Sleeplessness also known as insomnia, is a condition wherein a person finds it difficult to sleepOne should get at least eight hours of sleep everyday. People with insomnia have a tendency to wake up in between, waking up early in the morning and they often feel tired. Basically two types of insomnia exist- primary and secondary insomnia.
Sleep deprivation can lead to an array of health problems like stress, acne, fatigue, impaired memory, lack of concentration, depression and anxiety. Some factors that contribute to insomnia are smoking, frequent naps during the day, nightmares, phobias and certain medications.
Sleep is very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. There are certain foods which act like medicines in treating insomnia. Curd
Curd is a natural cure for insomnia! Curd improves the digestive system and assists in absorption of essential minerals and nutrients. It is also great at inducing sleep. One should consume at least 3 cups of curd a day, to get rid of sleeplessness.

Saffron
The most expensive spice saffron, treats insomnia. Drinking milk with few strands of saffron everyday before going to bed, gives a good night's sleep.

Oatmeal
Oats are not only rich in fiber, but also in melatonin which causes drowsiness. Including oats in the breakfast contributes to peaceful sleep.

Bananas
Bananas are sleep boosters. It contains the right amount of nutrients and the amino acid typtophan, which promotes sleep. Bananas calm the neurons and reduces the brain activity at night. Eating bananas everyday promotes sleep by reducing depression.

Almonds
Almonds are an excellent source of calcium and magnesium which soothe the muscles and improvethe sleep. Eating handful of almonds is an easy way to treat insomnia.

Honey
Honey is an ideal ingredient to treat insomnia. Honey contains the amino acid, tryptophan that induces sleep. According to a study having 1 tablespoonful of honey before going to bed improves sleep.

Cumin Tea
Cumin seeds are used in ayurveda to treat insomnia. Cumin tea eases tiredness and fatigue. It also has a tranquilizing effect.
