It may happen with you sometimes, that you come across a person who is need of medical help and the hospital is too far. Now, if you are not from a medical profession, it may be hard for you to save the life of the person. You may think that your attempt to save him can be risky.
However, you can save his life if you know the simple tips to rescue a parson in case of medical emergency until he or she can be taken to the hospital. If you see a person who is shivering, sweating and in a condition of shock, ask him whether he is a diabetic. The first step to save his life is to make him eat something sugary so that his blood sugar will come back to normal.

In the same way, there are some do's and dont's that you have to take care of while rescuing the life of a person at home or outside. If you are handling a person with fits or convulsions, don't force any object inside his mouth if he has already closed the mouth tightly as this may cause jaw fracture.
Here are some tips to save a person in case of medical emergency.
What To Do In Case Of Poisoning?
You can make the person to vomit, if you know what kind of poison he has ingested and only if he is awake. Before you induce vomiting in a poisoned person, you have to know what kind of poison he has ingested. If he has ingested a corrosive poison then inducing vomiting can burn his air ways and lungs. Inducing vomiting can also cause the poison to enter the lungs if the person is not conscious. This can cause instant death. Rather shift the patient to hospital as soon as possible for a stomach wash.
To Stop A Convulsion Or Fits
Put a soft piece of cloth inside the patient's mouth during a convulsion attack as the person may bite his tongue. However, don't force any object into his mouth to save the teeth and tongue. This may cause jaw fracture, chipping of teeth and other oral injuries. Instead, shift the person to a comfortable place. Place a pillow below his head and call an ambulance.
If Acid Or Any Chemical Goes Inside Eye
Just wash your eyes under running water continuously for 15 minutes without any delay. This will remove the chemical from eyes until proper treatment can be availed.
To Remove The Stuck Object Inside The Throat
Don't put your finger inside the person's throat if some object is stuck in a persons throat, as accidentally the object may go further inside the wind pipe. You can give back and abdominal thrusts for 5 or more times. Don't do abdominal thrusts in kids.
For Burn Relief
Avoid applying ice cubes directly on the burn injury. You can hold the burn area under running water to soothe it. Using cold water on burns is one of the important tips on first aid.
Sanitise Your Hands
If you are going to clean the wound, sanitise your hands with an anti-septic lotion. This prevents the transmission of infection to the wounded person. Infections can easily enter the blood through the abraded skin.
For Healing Sprains And Strains
Avoid applying heat to sprains, strains and fractures. It may seem that heat will offer relief from pain but heat aggravates swelling and it delays the healing process. Instead of heat patches, you can put ice on the affected surface for 15 minutes. Ice reduces swelling immediately.
To Stop Bleeding
Don't tourniquet the area to stop bleeding. It means that you tie a cloth tightly over the bleeding area to stop the bleeding. However, it causes more damage as blood flow is stopped. Best way to stop bleeding is to put a sterile cloth over the bleeding area and put some pressure on it until they are shifted to a hospital. This is one of the most common first aid mistakes.
For Snake Bite
Apply a tourniquets in case of snake or other insect poisoning to prevent the spreading of poison throughout the body.
To Remove Minute Particles Inside Eyes
If something solid particle goes inside the eyes don't put any object in the eye to remove it. This can damage the eye and can result in severe injury. Instead put a paper over the eye and take the person to doctor.
To Clean And For Dressing The Wound
Don't apply any cosmetic cream or a talc on the injury Doing this can cause severe infections. These products may contain bacteria as they are not sterile. Only use surgical cotton and surgical dressing over the wound. Avoid these first aid mistakes to prevent infections.
