What Causes Nausea In Men?

Nausea among women is a more common topic of discussion than in men. When a woman feels nauseous, we can tribute it to a number of things. The causes of nausea for women could be pregnancy, hormonal imbalances, pre-menstrual stress etc. But what happens when men experience nausea?

It is not uncommon for men to feel pukish. Although we don't discuss nausea felt by men, it does not mean that they don't feel pukish at all. Here are some of the reasons for which men can feel nausea.

Nausea In Men

Upset Stomach: The main cause of nausea among men and in fact, among all human beings is an upset stomach. If your stomach has an infection and you are unable to digest your food, you will feel nausea.

Lack Of Sleep: Sometimes, you may feel pukish if you don't get enough sleep. The symptoms of this type of nausea are very similar to morning sickness that women experience during pregnancy.

Cough And Cold: If your chest and throat are filled with phlegm, then it might make you puke. In fact, it is common for both men and women to experience nausea if the phlegm becomes thick and infected. And if you are a smoker, it will be all the more worse for you.

Stress: Men do not get hormonal because of stress. But the stress hormone plays havoc with their system just like it does with us. Many a times, stress can give you headache accompanied by a feeling of acute nausea.

Hangover: Well, men will be men when it comes to partying and alcohol. If you are in a habit to drink too much, you will wake up with a headache and vomiting sensation in your stomach. In fact, you might puke right after you have had too much of drink. It is not like women don't puke after drinking alcohol; its just that we don't associate nausea with drinking when it comes to women.

Anemia: Men are lesser prone to anemia than women, but it is not unheard for a man to have low blood counts. When you have lack of iron in your body, you can feel pukish. Anemia may point to serious diseases like cancer and HIV when it comes to men.

These are some of the reason for which men experience nausea. Are you aware of any other reasons for which men feel like vomiting?
