Things Your Skin Says About Your Health

Your skin is truly a window to your health. At any given point of time, your skin reflects the condition of your health. Some warning health signs can be picked up just by observing your skin. For example, anaemia is one of the most common diseases picked up by observing your skin.

Healthy skin is a boon. When you are healthy from within, it is reflected in the glow of your healthy skin. And when you have some infection or disease in your body, your skin shows the signs of your illness. Here are some important things that your skin says about your health.

Skin Health

Anaemia

Pale skin says a lot about your health. The first conclusion is that you are iron deficient and thus have less of haemoglobin in your body.

Vitamin Deficiency

Your skin can become easily bruisable when you lack Vitamin K. This is because your platelet count comes down. A lack of Vitamin C can result in acne ridden skin. Vitamin E deficiency can make you age quickly too.

Allergies

If you are prone to allergies, then it will show on your skin first of all. Rashes, breakouts and redness in the skin says loads about your health. Any exposure to the substance you are allergic to will show on your skin.

Jaundice

When your skin turns yellow and a pallor comes over you, it means that your liver is infected. When the bilirubin count increases, it makes your skin yellow.

Cancer

Melanoma or skin cancer is often observed by noting skin changes.

Viral Infection

Certain viral infections like chicken pox, dengue and measles show up on your skin first. When you have these infections, you will have fever accompanied by rashes and soreness in the skin.

Varicose Veins

If you can see the blue veins just under your skin, then you have varicose veins. This happens when your veins come too close to the surface. Usually people who are overweight suffer from varicose veins.

HIV

When you are HIV positive and the infection has already outdone the incubation period, you skin starts peeling off. You might notice dry loose skin on your clothes, bed sheets and towels.

These are some of main things that your skin says about your health. Have you ever detected an illness looking at your skin.
