Feeling sleepy after your heavy lunch? It is time for you to take a small walk and get some fresh air to feel alive and new. There are en number of ways in which you can feel energetic, you can turn to energy foods and drinks. But, if you want to go green and natural you will feel all the more better health wise. It is quite common that after a delicious lunch and a morning of hard work and exercise you are bound to feel the pressure in your eyes making you want to sleep.
Endless yawns and folded hands which act as a cushion comfort your heavy head too. However, this is not how we want to feel everyday when we are at office. This is because, feelings like these will slow the work production and thus you will not feel productive in the second half of the day.

Take a small walk
If you are feeling lazy after lunch, a small walk will do the trick to get back into action again. If you spend ten minutes walking in the sunlight it will make all the difference. To beat the afternoon drowsiness head outdoors and spend some time with yourself or with a group of friends/colleagues.

Hydrated
A slight dehydration will lead to a mental block. It is best to drink two liters of water on a daily dose when you are in your office seat. Drinking plenty of water will help you keep active.

Avoid heavy meals
They say eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper. However, if you are working and eat lunch like a prince you are bound to sleep like one too. It is best to avoid food which contains carbohydrates as it removes energy and makes you feel sleepy.

The best way to beat the afternoon drowsiness is with a mid-afternoon cup of coffee or tea. This will help beat the sluggishness. You can also try herbal or exotic teas with a small amount of caffeine to help glide away the afternoon drowsiness.

Chew on a spicy flavoured bubble gum, like cinnamon and clove. Spicy gum, such as strong mint or cinnamon flavours, are stimulating. Simply chewing on these flavours can help reactivate the brain.

Rosemary
When you want to beat the afternoon drowsiness, you need to have the scent of rosemary leaves hanging near your desk. This will boost your energy levels making you feel fresh. You can also rub a sprig on your hands, face and neck.
