Red Foods To Have In Your Diet
We often speak about the importance of having green veggies in our diet. But rarely we speak about the importance of red foods in our diet. This might sound weird, but there are many nutritious foods that are red in colour and must be a part of your diet plan.
These red foods are very rich in a lot of minerals, vitamins, antioxidants and a host of other nutrients. For example foods like cranberries, tomatoes are considered as superfoods. You need to have at least some of these red foods regularly to stay healthy. And moreover the brighter the colour of the food the better its nutrition. And most of the red foods have a great taste and flavour.
The red foods are healthy and provide us protection against a lot of diseases. Some of these healthy foods like red bell peppers and the berries are great for the heart. You can either have these nutritious foods raw, make jams, jellies and pickles or even include them in salads and seasonings.
Some of the red foods are great blood builders. The nutrients in them help in the blood formation. They also strengthen our immunity. These red superfoods also provide us protection against fatal diseases like cancer. The red foods even protect the DNA from harmful oxidative damage. Most of the fruits that are red in colour are also a potential storehouse of Vitamin C that is very essential for a good vision. Red Grapes
This is another nutritious red food that is rich in vitamin C, antioxidants etc. They are good for a healthy heart as they help lower the cholesterol levels in the blood.

Tomato
This vegetable is packed with nutrients and aids weight loss. The beta-carotene in tomatoes helps fight cancer.

Watermelon
Have watermelon everyday as it helps maintain a good cardiovascular health. The vitamins and the minerals in it also strengthen the immune system.

Pomegranate
This fruit is well known for its blood building attributes. It is also rich in magnesium, potassium and antioxidants.

Cranberries
We all know that this can be counted as one of the red superfoods. It is also rich in vitamin A and K.

Apple
Apples are a good source of flavanoids that protects the body from free radical damage. It also strengthens our immunity against the cancer causing agents.

They aid weight loss and is also good to improve vision.

Red Chillies
Red chillies have a very low saturated fat and cholesterol content that is good for the heart heath.

Strawberries
Strawberries cure high blood pressure, arthritis, gout and heart diseases.

Beetroot
Beetroot is a very good source of iron, calcium, fibre and vitamin C. This red vegetable also helps build blood and maintain a good bowel movement.

Cherries
Cherries contain elements that help body reduce pain. Cherries are also very good for the insomniac patients as they increase sleep. Apart from this, cherries are also rich in vitamins and minerals.
