In the new study, it stated that weight loss through bariatric surgery worsens the knee pain for those who are obese, suffering from knee arthritis. After the study, it showed that obesity contributes to a greater complication after hip and knee replacement surgeries are done.

But for those obesity patients who have a body mass index of below 40, have more or less the same effects than that of extreme obese patients.
