Turmeric seems to offer the benefits that cardio exercises offer. That is why some health experts say that eating turmeric is as good as working out.
Turmeric is said to reduce the risk of suffering heart attack by 41%. It contains a compound known as curcuma which is said to improve the function of your heart.

Adding even a pinch of turmeric to your dishes can do a lot for your overall health. Read on to know more about why turmeric is as good as exercise for your heart.

Fact #1
A study was conducted on 100 women from various age groups. All of them were divided into three groups.
The first group was given turmeric as a part of the diet, the second group was made to work out without turmeric in the diet and the third group neither worked out nor ate turmeric.

Fact #2
After a couple of months, the group that ate turmeric and the group that worked out regularly displayed similar changes in the heart health and blood vessel function.

The group that neither ate turmeric nor worked out showed no changes.

Fact #3
The group that worked out followed an exercise routine that consisted of aerobic workouts thrice a week along with activities like cycling and walking.

Fact #4
The group that ate turmeric ensured that they consumed around 150mg of turmeric every day as a part of the diet routine.

Fact #5
The results were observed after 60 days. Only the overall heart health and the function of the blood vessels were considered for comparison.

This study didn't compare aspects like fat loss, weight loss or muscle growth. So, it doesn't mean that you don't need exercise if you eat turmeric.

Another study revealed that turmeric increases the tolerance to stress. Also, turmeric is among the best remedies to reduce inflammation.
