12 Foods Deceptively High In Sugar
Foods that contain sugar are not always desserts. You think that if you skip pudding after dinner, you have avoided all the calories and sugar? Think again. Sometimes, foods high in sugar are not as obvious as you think. If someone asks you to name foods that contain sugar in large amounts, you would probably say candy bars, chocolate, cakes and pastries. But there are some foods that contain more sugar than these conventionally 'sweet' delicacies.
Foods that are deceptively high in sugar are thus more dangerous than the foods that we know are high on gluten. If you do not know that these foods are fattening or sweet, how would you actually avoid them. The worst part is that some of the foods that contain sugar in a hidden way are considered health foods.
Breakfast cereals and health drinks for example are eaten with the intention of maintaining a healthy diet. But even these foods contain loads of added sugar and people do not always know about it. Health Drinks

Salad Dressing
We say no to our cravings and eat salads to follow a healthy diet. But did you know that you are pouring calories in the form of salad dressing on your veggies?

Ketchup
Tomato ketchup is a one of the single most fattening additives to food. Ketchup does not contain only tomatoes; it also contains loads and loads of sugar and sweetened vinegar.

Sauces
Not all but many sauces contain added sugar in them. For example, garlic sauce and barbecue sauce are notorious for being food deceptively high in sugar.

Dry Fruits
Dry fruits like raisins and figs are rich in concentrated sugar. Although these sugars are natural, they are extremely fattening and harmful for diabetics.

Flavoured Yogurts
Nothing other than plain yogurt is healthy for you. All flavoured yogurts have added sugar in them. Fruit flavoured yogurts are the worst offenders.

Packaged Fruit Juice
Only fresh juices with no added sugars are healthy for you. If you are drinking ready-made packaged fruit juice, then you are swallowing calories.

Cocktails & Fruit Punches
Cocktails and fruit punches that you have at the starting of the dinner often have more calories than your entire dinner put together.

Burger Buns
The sweet taste that you get in your mouth when you bite into a bun comes from the extra sugar. The buns taste sweet because of added sugar and gluten in them.
