Nutritious & Filling Evening Snacks

Healthy evening snacks:
Banana: This is one nutritious fruit which is filling and good for the health too! This is rich in calories but less in fat, so don't have more than two bananas. The vitamin B6 and C rich fruit boosts up energy levels and keeps you active. To control your blood pressure, stress, tension and other such office workload, have two bananas in the evening.
Yogurt: This dairy product is a healthy evening snack. Have low fat yogurt to avoid putting on weight. Yogurt is easy to digest when compared to milk and this is a healthy alternative for people who can't tolerate milk. Lactobacteria, especially acidophilus, promotes the growth of healthy bacteria in the colon and decreases the conversion of bile into reflux. Yogurt, a rich source of calcium also promotes the growth of healthy bacteria in the intestines which reduces the chances of suffering from colon diseases, intestinal and yeast infections.
Vegetable sandwich: A vegetable sandwich is easy to make and healthy evening snack too. Make a vegetable sandwich with or without meat as a filling snack. Whole wheat bread are healthy as they are less in calories and are filling too. Put nutritious vegetables such as lettuce, carrots, bell pepper, cucumber, tomato and onion to add flavour to the bread sandwich. Use peanut/almond butter or string/cottage cheese.
Smoothie: A fruit smoothie is filled with proteins and is a filling nutritious evening snack idea. You can make a smoothie with banana, strawberries, apple, grapes, yogurt, peanut butter or even lemon to feel relaxed after a hectic day. Smoothies are healthy evening snacks because you don't need additional sugar to make it sweet. The smoothie has natural sugar through fruits which balance the blood sugar level and prevents from suffering diabetes. A fruit smoothie is rich in Vitamin C, folic acids and fiber which is not only healthy for the body but also for the hair and skin.
Have these healthy and nutritious evening snacks rather than going for oily or fried chips, burgers or street chaats.
