How To Get Rid Of Smoker's Cough

If you are a smoker, you'll surely know what smokers cough is. This kind of cough could trouble you occasionally for 15-20 days.
In fact, even passive smokers may also suffer this kind of cough. The cough is generally worse during the first few hours of the day and may gradually wane later on.

In most of the cases, it could be dry cough. But in some cases, it could also accompany phlegm. It is better to consult a doctor if the cough doesn't reduce in a few days. Here are some home remedies to try.
Remedy #1
The easiest thing to do is to drink lots of water. Though it helps only for some time, it helps your body flush out the phlegm. It can also hydrate you well.
Remedy #2
Sip a teaspoon of honey. Repeat it thrice a day. It contains anti-inflammatory compounds. It can also fight bacteria and clear mucous.

Remedy #3
Take a glass of water and mix a spoon of salt in it. Gargle for a minute. Repeat 3 times a day. It fights the bacteria and provides some relief.
Remedy #4
Boil a cup of milk and add a crushed garlic to it. Let it boil for a few more minutes and drink it. Garlic contains powerful antibacterial agents that heal the throat.
Remedy #5
Boil a piece of ginger in water for 5 minutes and add some milk to it. Allow it to boil for 5 more minutes and add a pinch of turmeric and drink it. Turmeric contains many healing agents and anti-inflammatory properties which provide relief.

Remedy #6
Even drinking green tea every day for a few days can help your body recover from the cough. Green tea contains antioxidants and immune-boosting compounds.

Boil a cup of water along with a teaspoon of crushed ginger. Add a few drops of lemon to the mixture and drink it. Ginger is a good remedy for cough.
