It is heard clearly when you exhale, but in the most severe cases, it can be heard when you inhale too. Wheezing is caused by narrowed airways or inflammation. There are several ways in which you can keep this breathing problem under control. With the help of medications, eating the right type of healthy foods is essential. However, there is a list of foods one must avoid if you are suffering from wheezing. These foods are bad for your health and will increase the severity of the problem.

A glass of wine is a bad drink for those who are suffering from wheezing. If you happen to drink a glass of wine, you will begin to have breathing problems.

Beer
If you love beer and at the same time suffering from wheezing, it is time for you to keep away from it. A pint of beer is not good for the lungs of those who are suffering from wheezing.

Starchy foods
Bananas contain high amount of starch which is one of the main foods to avoid for wheezing. Some of the other binding foods which contain starch are potatoes and snacks which are coated with corn flour.

Pineapple
One of the main foods to avoid for wheezing is the yellow poky pineapple. The acids which is present in pineapples is considered to be dangerous for the asthma patients.

Peppers
The slated processed pickles are hard to resist from, but if you are a patient suffering from wheezing, you should avoid foods like peppers and pickles.

Fried potatoes
The one food to avoid for wheezing is fried potatoes, as the starch present in the potato is in excess. Your worst enemy is french fries! Potatoes which are boiled is a better option but in moderation.

Allergy foods
If you are allergic to any type of food, make sure that you do not consume anything which has the allergic contents. Allergy foods can cause the onset of asthma as it contracts the larynx making it difficult to breathe.

Shrimp
If you are suffering from asthma, one food to avoid for wheezing is frozen shrimp. This seafood contains a lot of preservatives which is not good for the lungs. Therefore, if you want to eat shrimp, make sure it is not frozen.

Limit Omega- 6 fats
One of the ways to reduce your breathing problem is to reduce the intake of omega-6 fats which is present in foods cooked with vegetable or soy bean oil.

Hairy foods
All types of hairy foods should be avoided for wheezing as the hair will only instigate the effects of breathing. Some foods to avoid for wheezing are passion fruit and dragon fruit.
