Things You Shouldn’t Do After A Meal
Having a well-balanced diet is very important for any human being. We find ourselves having a three course meal quiet often. But, we are not so bothered about what we should do and what we should avoid after a meal.
There are many myths and tales on this as to what not to do on a full stomach. But, based on a few digestive facts, there are few things you shouldn't do after a meal. Care needs to be taken on what to do after a meal as this will help with the digestion of the food.
HOW TO STICK TO DIETING WHILE EATING OUT?
Digestion of the food is completely different when it comes to a full stomach. Digestion will be much slower when you have had rich food. You will feel heavy for a long time and will even have the urge to skip the next meal. The things you do after a full meal will have different effects on your body. The outcome may be immediate and in some cases, it will take time to show.
The following are some important points on what not to do after a meal. Remember these from the next time onwards after a meal.

Do Not Swim
This is one of the things that we have to be very careful while considering what not to do after a meal. You need to wait at least 30 minutes after a meal to go for a swim. The reason is that more blood is drawn into the gastrointestinal tract after eating to help with the digestion. If you go for swimming after a meal, this will cause minor cramps in the stomach.

Do Not Take a Bath or Shower
This is one of the things not to do after eating. The basic concept here is that the blood flow would be stimulated to the stomach after a meal to help with the proper digestion. When you go for a bath, this will do exactly the opposite as the body becomes cool and will not help with the digestion, eventually causing health issues.

Do Not Sleep
Sleeping is what not to do after a meal, especially after heavy food. Gravity plays a part in this process. When you lie down after a heavy meal, the digestive juices will move away from the stomach and will cause intestinal inflammations. Those who sleep after a meal will only increase the pressure on the diaphragm.

Do Not Walk
When you walk, it takes up a lot of energy. This is one of the things not to do after eating. This does help with the digestion and speeds up the process, but this also causes an acid reflux when you walk soon after a meal. This also prevents the digestive juices from absorbing all the nutrients from the food.

Do Not Drink Tea
Drinking tea after a meal has its own effects on the digestive system. Tea doesn't allow your body to absorb iron from the food. The acid in the tea also interferes with the proteins in the food. Therefore, drinking tea is one of the things not to do after a meal.
