Pros & Cons Of A Cereal Diet
Today’s society is obsessed with dieting to maintain their figure. A healthy balanced diet is what we should follow rather than forgoing most food stuffs. Living on water and a few carrot sticks may not help you. But, always keep an eye on what you eat to avoid unnecessary weight gain.
The latest trend in the so called healthy diet is cereal diet. In fact, many companies have come forward with new diet plans that involve consumers to eat only their food products, which will help them lose weight in a matter of days.
5 HEALTHY SNACK IDEAS FOR SUMMER
Cereal food is very healthy and must be included in our diet. But, there are many pros and cons to a cereal diet plan. Here, we may discuss the cereal diet benefits and its disadvantages as well:

Intestinal health
A cereal diet plan does not contribute to intestinal health. This is not good since it will not enable your body to absorb other nutrients and minerals from any food that you might be eating.

No minerals
A cereal diet plan does not have any minerals in it. Some companies include minerals in their cereals, but pure cereals do not contain any minerals and hence, it is not of much use to your body.

Inflammatory nature
A cereal diet plan also increases your chances of inflammation, especially around the joints. A cereal diet alone is not recommended for arthritic people or people with low bone strength.

Not enough calories
Cereal diet benefits also do not include the necessary amount of calories needed by our body. We get energy for all our activities from the calories in foods. Cereals alone will not provide the adequate amount.

Dietary fibre
Cereal diet benefits include mainly dietary fibre that will help improve our digestion. So, this is very useful to those people who do not otherwise get the required amount of fibre from other food stuffs.

B vitamin
Cereal diet benefits also include a high B vitamin content like niacin and thiamine. But, the B vitamin content can be found in higher concentrations in other food stuffs also. Cereals are a quick and easy way of getting B vitamins.

Lowers heart disease
Cereal diet benefits also lower heart disease and reduces bad cholesterol in your body. A regular inclusion of cereals in your diet means lower risk of a heart attack.

Low risk of diabetes
In a similar manner, cereal diet benefits also lower the risk of diabetes. But, you should be careful while choosing your brand of cereal since some of them has added sugar in them.

Weight loss
The major one among cereal diet benefits is weight loss. Most of the people choose to have a cereal diet in order to avoid weight gain or lose unwanted extra weight. Cereals are unavoidable part of a weight loss diet.
