A vegetarian porridge sounds so boring and monotonous. But it is one of the best options for a healthy breakfast. Porridge gives you a lot of energy and has many health benefits. A vegetarian porridge consists of nutrients, minerals and vitamins that are necessary for the body to run properly.

White Rice Porridge - To make this porridge you will need long white rice grains, chilli flakes, ginger and salt. It is one of the simplest healthy vegetarian porridge recipes. Take a bowl of white rice grains and boil the rice. Use twice as much water for cooking the rice. This will ensure that the rice forms a paste, which will make a good porridge. The rice porridge should be consistent in texture. Add the chilli flakes and ginger paste. The simple flavors make the porridge tasty. The porridge has no trans fat and cholesterol and hence is very healthy.
Oats Porridge - Oats are healthy and beneficial for our body. Oats porridge is therefore a very healthy breakfast option. To make this porridge you will need a bowl of oats, half bowl rice grains, almonds, jaggery and cashew. Boil the oats and rice grains together. Stir the mixture well. Add jaggery and a pinch of salt to taste. Fry the finely chopped almond and cashew to add to the porridge. This healthy vegetarian porridge is sweet and savory in taste. It is quite healthy and will be enjoyed by kids as well.
Coconut And Rhubarb Porridge - In this healthy vegetarian porridge you will need coconut milk, rhubarb, amaranth, dates and salt to taste. Soak half cup amaranth all night. Combine amaranth with half a cup coconut milk and boil for 10 minutes. Add salt in the mixture and stir well. In a separate bowl, take 3 cups rhubarb, coconut milk and chopped dates. Boil the mixture till the rhubarb is cooked. Mix both the contents and again cook for 5 minutes. The porridge can be garnished using coconut. This porridge is a good source of energy to keep you going all day. It has low fat content and cholesterol level. The porridge is a good source of carbohydrates.
Brown Rice And Pea Porridge - To make this healthy vegetarian porridge, you will need one cup of brown rice, half cup of peas, cinnamon, green chilli and salt to taste. You can also use other vegetables like broccoli, carrots and onions. Boil the rice along with the vegetables of your choice. Add the green chilli, salt and pepper for taste. You may even add cinnamon if required. This porridge has a lot of nutrients, vitamins and proteins because of the use of vegetables in it.
Wheat Porridge - To make this porridge you will need a cup of wheat grains, ginger and lemon. Take the wheat and boil it. Add some ginger paste, salt to taste and 2-3 drops of lemon juice. The porridge has a tangy and spicy flavor to it. It is a simple and healthy vegetarian porridge option.
