Quick & Easy Gobi Manchurian Recipe
We all love to hog on Chinese food. By Chinese, we don't mean the original Chinese food with bland taste. In India, we prepare Chinese food in our own unique way with a lot of spices and a lot of sauce. The Indo-Chinese recipes are a treat for the spice lovers because we, Indians know how to spice up our food the right way.
Manchurian recipes are ones we all crave for. Chicken manchurian is a favourite choice of the non vegetarian foodies. Similarly on the other hand, paneer and gobi manchurian are almost everyone's favourite. Gobi manchurian is one version of manchurian recipes which is gaining popularity mostly among the students. The cauliflower is deep fried and then cooked with a lot of sauce and Indian spices which make it absolutely lip-smacking, irrespective of whether you like the vegetable or not.

So, here we have a healthier, easy and quick recipe for gobi manchurian which you can try out in your kitchen. Get set and read on.
Serves: 3
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- Cauliflower - 1/2 (medium, cut to small florets)
- Oil - for deep frying
For the batter - All-purpose flour- 5tbsp
- Corn Starch- 3tbsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Black Pepper- 1/4 tsp
- Water- 1/4 cup plus 2tbsp
For the sauce
- Oil - 1tbsp
- Onion- 1/2 (medium, chopped finely)
- Green chilies- 2-3 (chopped)
- Garlic- 3 large cloves (chopped finely)
- Ketchup- 2tbsp
- Red chili sauce- 2tbsp
- Soy sauce- 4tsp
- White Vinegar- 2tsp
- Water- 4tbsp
- Corn Starch- 2tsp
Procedure
1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan.
2. Add onions, green chilies and garlic and cook for 4-5 minutes till onions are light brown.
3. Add ketchup and red chili sauce and cook until oil starts to separate from mixture.
4. Add soy sauce and vinegar. Mix well.
5. Mix two teaspoons of corn starch with four tablespoon of water and add it to the pan.
Cook for 1-2 minutes until sauce starts to thicken.
6. Keep the sauce aside.
7. To prepare the batter, add all-purpose flour, corn starch, salt, black pepper and water in a small bowl. Mix until there are no lumps.
8. Coat the cauliflower pieces well with batter and deep fry in oil for about 3-4 minutes on low flame.
9. Add the fried cauliflower to the sauce and mix well.
10. Toss in a pan on medium heat till the water is completely absorbed.
Gobi manchurian is ready to be served. Enjoy the crispy delight with noodles or fried rice.
