Tasty Dal Kabila For Diabetics
Diabetes is a disease which restricts you from eating all your favourite foods. But that doesn't mean that you cannot have tasty food if you have diabetes. We, at Boldsky aim to give the best to your taste-buds and take care of your health as well.
Keeping this in mind, today we have a diabetic special recipe for you which is known as dal kabila. It is basically a part of the Mughlai cuisine but prepared in a way to suit the needs of the diabetic patients. Use of less spices in this dal makes it an excellent option for you if you are suffering from this disease.

So, try out dal kabila and rejuvenate your taste-buds.
Serves: 4
Soaking time: 4 hours
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- Urad dal- 1 cup
- Cinnamon- 1 stick
- Cloves- 3
- Cardamom- 2
- Dry red chilli- 1 (broken)
- Ginger-garlic paste- 1tsp
- Tomatoes- 2 (chopped)
- Turmeric powder- 1tsp
- Chilli powder- ½ tsp
- Coriander powder- 2tsp
- Garam masala powder- ½ tsp
- Lemon juice- 2tsp
- Cumin seeds- 1tsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Oil- 1tsp
- Water- 2 cups
- Coriander leaves- 2tbsp (chopped)
Procedure
1. Soak the urad dal in water for about 4 hours.
2. After that, drain the water and pressure cook the urad dal with water and salt on medium flame. Wait for 2 whistles to blow.
3. Once done, remove the pressure cooker from the heat and keep it aside.
4. Heat oil in a pan and add cinnamon, cloves, cumin seeds, cardamom and fry for a minute.
5. Then add dry red chilli, ginger-garlic paste and fry for 2 minutes on medium flame.
6. Then add chopped tomatoes, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and saute for 4-5 minutes.
7. Now add the boiled urad dal and lemon juice. Mix well and simmer for about 5 minutes.
8. Once done, switch off the flame and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Delicious dal kabila is ready to be served. Enjoy this sumptuous dal recipe with rotis.
