Tomato Chutney
Ingredients:
Tomato - 4 large.
Refined oil- 1 large tsp.
Sugar - 10 tsp.
Water - for boiling.
5 seeds mixture- of jeera, kala jeera, black mustard seeds, saunf , methi seeds - All mixed together in equal proportions - Half a tea spoon of the total mixture.
Salt to taste.
Method:
Take a kadai. Heat it and add refined oil. When it is warm, add the 5 mixed seeds together, just about a total of half a spoon.
When the seeds crackle, add the chopped tomatoes. Fry for some time.
Now add salt and water. Simmer till the tomatoes are cooked properly.
Now add sugar. Stir it for 2-3 mins. Add a little more water , if required. Cool the chutney and serve.
PS- You may add some tamarind water before adding sugar, in case you want a bit tangy taste. Also, you can add some raisins, date palms along with tomatoes.
