Sabudana Upma, The Bengaluru Summer Breakfast
Breakfast recipes for summer should be different from other seasons as it should provide energy and as well as cool the body heat. Sabudana (Tapioca Pearls) is one such ingredient which is best used in summer. Sabudana is a carbohydrate rich, low fat, low protein supplement that can be used for preparing snacks, kheer etc. Here is tasty “Sabudana Upma recipe" in “Bengaluru style" that can be prepared in very little time.
Sabudana Upma in “Bengaluru Style" -

Ingredients:
1. 2 cups Sabudana ((Tapioca Pearls)
2. 1 cup fresh coconut (grated)
3. ' cup carrots (chopped, boiled)
4. ' cup potatoes (chopped, boiled)
5. 2 tsp roasted groundnut powder
6. Green chillies (chopped)
7. Coriander (chopped) for garnish
8. Salt as per taste
9. 1 tsp mustard seeds
10. ' tsp cumin seeds
11. 1 tsp gram dal
12. 1 tsp urad dal
13. 2 tsps curd
14. 1 tsp oil
Sabudana Upma Recipe Preparation :
1. Soak sabudana in a bowl of water and curds (2 tsp) overnight. Drain the excess water and mix it groundnut powder.
2. Heat oil in a pan and fry mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, gram dal, chopped green chillies.
3. Add boiled vegetables and fry them for 2 mins.
4. Then add groundnut mixed sabudana, salt, grated coconut and mix well.
5. Garnish with chopped coriander and your Sabudana Upma, the summer breakfast recipe is ready.
