10 Minute Rice Kesari Bhaat Recipe For Holi
Holi 2015 should be celebrated with grandeur. With all the colour in the air, you should make time to prepare a sweet treat for those who visit your home to join in the festivities. For the occasion of Holi, we have an awesome recipe you can try out this afternoon.
The rice kesari bhaat recipe is simple and yummlicious too. Moreover, after you are done with your heavy meal indulging in this healthy treat is not that bad after all. On the other hand, this recipe contains a lot of calories. So, if you are on a weight loss diet, indulging in this treat once in a way is not that a big deal.

To prepare this rice kesari bhaat recipe for Holi 2015, take a look at the recipe below. The highlight - it is not time consuming.

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

All You Need
- Rice - 1 cup (soaked)
- Ghee- ¼ cup
- Raisin- 3 tbsp
- Cashew Nuts - 2 tbsp
- Cardamom Powder - ½ tsp
- Sugar- ¾ cup
- Kesar - few strands for garnish
- Water - 1 cup

Procedure
- Take a pan. Heat a little ghee and wait for it to turn hot. Now drop in the raisins and saute it a little. Remove once done.
- In the same pan, saute the cashew nuts as well, till they turn a little brown in colour. When done, remove from the pan.
- In the same pan, add in a little more ghee and then add in the rice. Fry the rice in the ghee.
- Now add the cardamom powder to the pan. Fry it some more. Add in few strands of saffron. Add water to the rice. Allow the rice to cook on a low flame. Wait for the water to be absorbed.
- Now add the sugar to the water. Allow the sugar to melt with the rice. It will leave out water, so lower the flame.
- Sprinkle the rice kesari bhaat with the fried nuts and cashews.

It is not an option for weight loss. It contains a lot of calories.
Tip
Don't add sugar before or while the rice is getting cooked. This is because the sugar will not allow the rice to cook.
