Gingerbread House Recipe – Simple And Colourful

Gingerbread House Recipe -
Ingredients:
1.200 g Butter
2.250 g Sugar (Brown)
3.1 tsp lemon (zest)
4.2 tsp lemon juice
5.150g molasses
6.2 tsp honey
7.2 eggs
8.6 egg whites
9.375g flour (all purpose)
10.1 tsp baking powder
11.1 tsp ginger (finely ground)
12.1 tsp cardamom (finely powdered)
13.2 kg icing sugar (well sifted)
Method:
1. First make a cut out of a house using a thin cardboard consisting of a side wall, an end wall, a triangular gable and a roof rectangle. Attach the rectangular end wall piece to the triangular gable piece, match the long side of the triangle to one of the sides of the end wall.
2. In a big bowl, blend butter and sugar until light and soft. Stir in lemon zest, lemon juice and honey. Mix egg beat, Sifted all purpose flour, baking powder, ginger and cardamom together; stir into sugar butter mixture. Set aside the dough in refrigerator for an hour.
3. After an hour, spread the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Divide the portions approximately with the size of the cardboard. Transfer gingerbread onto greased baking trays.
4. Preheated the oven to about 195 C
5. Bake gingerbread for 12 minutes (until crisp). Carefully remove from the oven. Leave the gingerbread overnight to set.
6. In a bowl, add the lightly whisked egg whites, icing sugar and mix well until smooth. ). The icing should be smooth and stand firm. Spread the icing mixture onto a cake board and press firmly. Cement every gaps with icing mixture. Leave overnight to set firmly.
7. When ready to decorate, beat the remaining icing and mix it with the whisked egg whites. Use this to make snow on the roof, windows, door etc and also to stick various colorful candies for decoration. Tasty Gingerbread house recipes ready to serve.
