Chilled Matka Lassi Recipe
Lassi is one of the most common Indian summer drinks which is prepared in almost every household. Drinking lassi during summers is healthy for the body. Lassi prevents body heat and helps in cooling oneself.
There are many types of lassi recipes that you can prepare at home. From the traditional lassi to the flavoured ones, you can add several ingredients like mangoes, chocolates, litchi or bananas to prepare the seasonal lassi. Even nuts like almonds and saffron can be added to enjoy the thandai lassi!
One of the advantages of lassi is that this healthy summer drink can be prepared in minutes. Lassi is served in matka (clay pot) and the smell of mud makes the Indian summer drink all the more delicious. Matka lassi is a popular recipe in the northern states of India, especially in Rajasthan, Delhi and Punjab. Here is the recipe to prepare matka lassi and beat the scorching summer heat.
Matka Lassi: Healthy Summer Drink
MASALA WATERMELON JUICE RECIPE

Serves: 2
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
1. Curd- 1 cup
2. Sugar- 3tsp
3. Rosewater- 2 drops
4. Cardamom powder- a pinch
5. Saffron- a few strands
6. Fresh thick cream- 1tsp
7. Water- ½ cup
8. Ice cubes- 3-4
Procedure
1. Whip curd in a bowl so as to make it creamy and foamy. Ideally, strain the curd with a net strainer cloth. Squeeze out the curd in a bowl and then whip that strained curd.
2. Add water and rose water. Mix and add sugar.
3. Whip till the sugar is dissolved. If you are in a hurry, you can grind the strained curd with sugar and water.
4. Now beat the lassi well. Pour the foamy lassi in a matki.
Matka lassi is ready to drink. Garnish with cardamom powder, almonds and saffron strands. If you want, you can soak saffron strands in milk for 10-15 minutes and then add it while grinding the lassi.
