Salt to taste
water ¾ th cup
fenugreek(methi) or Green gram (moong dal) ½ cup
garlic paste ½ spoon
ginger paste ½ spoon
cumin seeds ½ spoon
khakra machine
Chili powder ½ spoon
Coriander powder ½ spoon
Directions To Make Masala Khakra:
- Prepare a dough with wheat flour, water and salt. Mix ingredients respective to the type of khakra you are making.
- While preparing the dough, if you are planing to make fenugreek masala khakra, then add fenugreek.
- If you are making green gram (moong dal) khakra then you need to add that in the dough.
- Add cumin seeds, chilli powder, coriander powder in the dough.
- Make round rotis (flat breads) from the prepared dough. Then you need to roast the prepared rotis till they become light brown.
- You can do it with a machine (roti maker) or on a pan. While roasting it on a pan make sure you keep pressing it with a clean piece of cloth . When it starts changing it's colour to light brown and when it looks crispy, then it is done.
Tip: Be careful while pressing it down on a pan. Do not over do it as it might burn. Serve it with pickle or curd.
