Masaledar Mutton Recipe For Dinner

Ingredients
- Mutton- 750 gms (cut into medium sized pieces)
- Oil- 4tbsp
- Cardamoms- 6
- Cloves- 10
- Bay Leaves- 3
- Cinnamon- 1
- Onions- 5 ( chopped)
- Garlic/ ginger- 1tbsp (paste)
- Curd- 5tbsp
- Turmeric powder- 1tsp
- Chilli Powder- 1tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Coriander powder- 2tsp
- Tomato- 6tbsp (puree)
- Green Chillies- 2 (sliced)
- Garam Masala- 1tbsp
- Peppercorns - 1tsp
- Coriander Leaves- 1tbsp
- Mint Leaves- 1 sprig (chopped)
Procedure
- You first need to heat oil in a pressure cooker. When the oil is hot, add in the cardamoms, cloves, bay leaves and cinnamon.
- Now saute these ingredients over a medium flame. After 2 to 3 minutes add in the onions and sauté it till it turns a golden brown in colour.
- Now add the mutton pieces to the cooker and heat it for five minutes. Make sure that the mutton is covered entirely with the ingredients which was in the cooker.
- After 5 minutes, add to the cooker the ginger and garlic paste and sauté again for another three minutes.
- Now add in the curd, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and coriander powder to the cooker and mix the ingredients well using a spatula. Stir the ingredients continuously.
- After 5 minutes add the tomato puree and the green chilli and stir the ingredients again with a flat spoon.
- Now to this mixture, add seven cups water and bring it to a boil.
- Close the lid of the pressure cooker and wait for 5-6 whistles, then turn the flame off.
- When done, open the lid of the cooker and add the garam masala powder, the peppercorns, chopped coriander leaves and mint leaves to the dish.
- Now cook for another few more minutes or till most of the water is absorbed.
