What Is Leheriya? The Rajasthani Textile Behind Kareena Kapoor's Saree Inspired By Sister Karisma's ‘Zubeidaa’
Kareena Kapoor In Sougat Paul Saree
Kareena Kapoor Khan was recently seen at the unveiling ceremony of the latest Filmfare issue cover. She is gracing the cover of Filmfare magazine this month and was thus called to unveil the issue. Kareena Kapoor wore a saree that was vibrant and colourful. For one moment, we were confused by the bold block prints that reminded us a bit of Masaba Gupta's couture.
But then, this creation was from Sougat Paul's Lakme Fashion Week collection. Kareena's multi-coloured saree was from Soup that is a brand by Sougat Paul. The chiffon saree had predominantly 3 colours; black, mustard yellow and purple. The body of the saree was black. The pallu was a combination of mustard yellow and purple. The colour purple looked most striking in this ensemble. This saree was an unconventional and fresh choice for Kareena Kapoor. We have never seen her wear something quite like this before.

But even more than the saree, we loved Sougat Paul's innovative blouse design. The blouse was a halter neck and looked very similar to a bikini top. The straps of the blouse were in black and the body was white with black polka dots. The blouse design of the ensemble matched the pleats of the saree. On the ramp, the model had tucked the saree pallu under the straps of her blouse. But Kareena Kapoor choose the more conventional style of draping the pallu over the blouse.
Kareena Kapoor's Sougat Paul saree was such a masterpiece that she did not need much else to look gorgeous. She kept her makeup and hairstyle simple. Kareena's hair was pulled back into a simple loose bun. She wore small black coloured ear studs She used simple black kohl for eye makeup and left her lips quite bare. This look was embellished with nothing more than a vibrant and endearing smile.
