DCW 2013: Tabu As The New Age Draupadi
It is not very often that we have the good fortune to see Tabu walk down the ramp. But one such momentous time occurred during the Delhi Couture Week 2013. The showstopper for designer Anju Modi was none other than the reclusive beauty Tabu herself. Tabu's stint at DCW 2013 was quite glamorous.
Tabu walked at DCW 2013 in an orange and red lehenga with a red velvet blouse. The full-sleeved red velvet blouse lent a very gracious touch to the entire ensemble. The drape that came with the lehenga choli was also deep brick red in colour. The theme of Anju Modi's collection for the PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2013 is 'Draupadi'. Her lehengas were re-invented keeping in mind the personality of the powerful mythical character Draupadi.
Tabu's presence at DCW 2013 presented her as the new age Draupadi. She held her own well in a frilly lehenga and a causal open hairstyle. The jewellery that Tabu wore at DCW 2013 was not too striking. It sort of blended in with the clothes making the look more organic. The main highlight of this look for us was the red velvet blouse that was embroidered in gold.
Here is a detailed look at Tabu's DCW 2013 ensemble when she turned Draupadi.

Tabu As Draupadi
Tabu walked down the ramp confidently in an outfit that was inspired by the ancient Indian beauty, Draupadi. Tabu wore an orange and red lehenga with a red blouse and drape.

Red Velvet Blouse
Tabu wore a full-sleeved red velvet blouse that had golden embroidery on it. This brick red blouse lent a mark of elegance to this ensemble.

Orange n Red Lehenga
Tabu looked stunning in a frilly orange and red lehenga. The orange fabric of the lehenga was trimmed in golden work and had a thick golden border.

Open Hairstyle
Draupadi was the first married Indian woman who vowed to leave her hair open. Taking it forward from there, the new age Draupadi Tabu also left her long hair open casually.

Jarao Necklace n Fabric Brooch
The jarao necklace that Tabu was wearing was not very striking. The jewellery did not stand out but blended with the rest of the outfit. Instead of wearing a bejeweled brooch, Tabu wore a fabric one to pin her drape. She wore no earrings.

Handcuff Bracelet
This season, the thick handcuff bracelet is really 'in'. Tabu wore a thick jarao bracelet that was matching with her necklace.

Tucked In Dupatta
Unlike the typical bridal look, Tabu had her dupatta tucked into her waist in the style of a country belle.

With Anju Modi
Tabu took a gracious round of applause with her designer Anju Modi by walking down the ramp at PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2013.
