Summer Skincare: Turmeric And Curd Face Pack For Summer: Benefits; How To Make It
The summers are here, and so is the heat. From sipping on iced drinks to standing under the running showers, we are all in this together when it comes to finding some relief from the terrible heat.
Speaking from personal experience, as someone who cannot stand the heat, I look for anything and everything that could provide me with some relief from the heat - even if it is for a few hours - I'll take it.

I have combination skin, which means that during the summer, the oil production is just too high, leaving my skin feeling icky and sticky.
So the first thing I look for in my mum's pantry and garden is something that can help me out - and this time, I hit the jackpot - organic home-grown turmeric and homemade curd!
A combination that is perfect (chef's kiss) for people who can't stand the heat and need some relief from the icky-sticky skin.
Turmeric And Curd Face Pack For Summer
Turmeric and curd are both good for your skin - when combined, it is a gold mine for skincare enthusiasts (and everyone).
I tried the turmeric and curd face pack every alternate day and I have positively started seeing results - not only does it provide relief from the heat, but it also helped diminish my acne marks, and maybe controlled the pimples because I break out like crazy during the summer heat and (touchwood) this time, my skin is not breaking out as it normally does.
So, let's take a look at the benefits of turmeric and curd face pack and how to make it.
Turmeric And Curd Face Pack For Summer: Benefits
Benefits of turmeric for skincare
In addition to being a health powerhouse, turmeric contains a compound known as curcumin which is a powerful antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory compound [1].

It is believed that organic turmeric can lighten hyperpigmentation, heal acne, reduce dark circles, deal with dull skin, prevent premature ageing and protect the skin from environmental damage [2].
Benefits of curd for skincare
For years, people have also lauded the virtues of curd as a facial mask, as it is moisturising, prevents acne, soothes sunburn, lightens dark circles, tightens pores and minimises premature ageing [3].
Combined, these two powerhouses of skin benefits make the perfect summer face pack.
Turmeric And Curd Face Pack For Summer: How To Make It?
Ingredients
- Curd (refrigerated)
- Organic turmeric
Directions
- Grind the organic turmeric into fine powder.
- Add a spoonful of cold curd into a bowl, and add 1 spoonful of turmeric powder.
- Mix well and apply all over your face and neck.
- Let it sit for 15-20 minutes, or till it dries.
- Wash it off with cold water and pat dry.
- Do it weekly, 1-2 times.
Note: Do not apply turmeric every day, as it can leave your skin looking yellow.

Extra Note: The turmeric and curd face pack worked wonders for my skin, but please do remember that all skins are different, so always do a patch test first. Even if it may not control your pimple/acne, the turmeric and curd face pack will surely provide some relief from the summer heat.
