Summer Skincare: How To Change Your Skincare Routine For Summer
We experience changes in our skin as the weather changes. Therefore, in summer, we may experience certain changes to our skin. To protect our skin from excessive heat and humidity, we need summer skin care.
In the summer, we usually get great weather (minus the terrible heat) so our skin looks great.

It's important to remember that you need to still take care of your skin, even though it's less stressed, more moist, and a little sun rays during the summer.
How To Change Your Skincare Routine For Summer
To prevent congestion on your skin during the summer, you must adjust your skincare routine. The sudden increase in temperature can trigger an additional outburst of sebum and oil in the skin - so here are some tips on how you can adapt your skincare routine to prevent untimely breakouts [1].
1. Stay hydrated
Staying hydrated is the best way to counteract the increased production of oil in the skin during the summer months.
Throughout the day, the skin can lose up to a cup of moisture, so keep your skin hydrated with a facial mist on the go. A gel-based sleeping mask is another product you should consider adding to your summer skin routine.
If kept in the refrigerator, the gel texture will provide a cooling and soothing effect on the skin. Opt for a lightweight formula that is easily absorbed by the skin [2].

2. Sunscreen is essential
There is no doubt that sunscreen is a necessity, especially when you are working at home in front of the computer. The best SPF, whether mineral or chemical, is a texture that you personally enjoy using every day and reapplying throughout the day to maintain consistent skin protection [3].
3. Be attentive to your skin's signals
As the seasons change, it is important to pay close attention to your skin - does your skin feel dehydrated, oily, or sensitive than usual? Summertime is a time when people feel like their skin can become a little oilier [4].
Therefore, experts recommend using lighter textures when applying moisturisers and serums, as well as switching to oil-free formulations.
Applying a cooling, lightweight gel moisturiser to the skin will provide an immediate soothing effect.
4. Cleanse thoroughly
Whenever you cleanse your skin, make sure you massage the cleanser into your skin for at least one minute to ensure that makeup, sunscreen, and grime are thoroughly removed [5].

On A Final Note...
If you wish to give your skin some extra attention during summer, try an overnight mask if you are doing your skincare at night. These masks have light exfoliants to remove dead skin cells as well as provide extra nourishment.
