8 Natural Ingredients To Banish Under-eye Wrinkles
The under-eye area is one of the first areas to start showing the signs of ageing. This is because the skin underneath the eyes is especially thin.
These wrinkles can seem to appear out of nowhere, and sometimes you may barely notice them, until one day when you wonder where they came from.
This can definitely make you worry about ageing sooner than you had expected. It's more because of the thin skin that is present around the eye area than because of the age factor, yet these lines can be worrying to most of us.
They start out because the skin loses it's ability to replace collagen that keeps the skin supple and soft and maintains it's elasticity.
The skin around the eyes does not create any moisture on its own, like the rest of the face. Also, we are constantly touching or rubbing the eyes, which can make it even more susceptible to fine lines.
Certain facial expressions like laughing and smiling a lot can also cause fine lines to appear faster. Now, this may be reason enough to rethink when people say you should smile more often.
However, we can't tell you to stop smiling, right? What we can do is to provide you a list of natural ingredients that will immensely help in slowing down the appearance of fine lines around the eyes. So, here they are, have a look.
1. Castor Oil
Since one of the main reasons for under-eye wrinkles is lack of moisture, massaging castor oil on the under-eye area can really help. This can be done every night before bed. Remember not to over use it because castor oil is a very rich oil and a little bit of it can go a long way. With regular use, the skin in the under-eye area would become supple once again.
2. Rosehip Oil
This oil is well known for its anti-ageing properties. It is fast absorbing and can even be used all over the face as an anti-ageing treatment. It is a fast-absorbing oil and is great even for people who are prone to acne and acne scarring. It is known to help with cure spots as well.
3. Pineapple
Pineapple juice has enzymes like bromelain, which is anti-inflammatory in nature and is a natural source of alpha-hydroxy acids. This can help treat wrinkles. Take some pineapple juice and apply it under the eye area. This also has astringent properties. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off with cold water.
4. Egg Whites
Egg whites are good for tightening the skin. Take the egg white using a foundation brush or any brush and apply it under the eye area. Apply a thin layer and remove it before it dries. If it dries completely, it can be difficult to remove and may cause damage to the sensitive skin.
5. Coconut oil
Coconut oil is a great source of moisture. The fat content in coconut oil would penetrate deep into the skin, giving the area under the eyes the intensive moisturisation it requires. Massage the under-eye area with some coconut oil twice daily and leave it on for the night.
6. Avocado
Avocados have natural oils that reduce the early signs of ageing. Mash avocados and then apply the paste underneath the eyes. Leave it on till it is fairly dry and then wash it off. This can work for the rest of the face as well.
7. Tea bags
Used tea bags have a lot of benefits. So, the next time you drink your tea, don't throw out the tea bags immediately. Store them in the refrigerator for later use and place one tea bag on each eyelid. This can banish the wrinkles and also cool down the under-eye area.
8. Grape
The acids in grapes are great in reducing the early signs of ageing. Cut a grape into half and rub it over the under-eye area. Leave the juice on for 20 minutes and then wash your face thoroughly with cold water. Grapes are great in tightening the skin and that's how they help reduce wrinkles.
