Menswear Trends At IBFW 2013
IBFW 2013 has a landmark status for one reason. We have seen menswear come alive this year at the India Bridal Fashion Week. Be it Western clothes or our native sherwanis, we have seen many stylish innovations in both forms for menswear. So IBFW 2013 is not just for the brides; it has something in it for the grooms as well.
Starting from day one, India Bridal Fashion Week 2013 showcased many outfits for Men. On Day one, Kabir Bedi walked the ramp for JJ Valaya dressed as the 'Maharaja Of Madrid'. On Day two, we had Prateik Babbar make a short appearance on the runway with his cute co-star from 'Issaq' Amyra Dastur. The couple walked the ramp for Rina Dhaka's 'Free Spirited Brides' collection.
And on day three, we had the evergreen Anil Kapoor walk as the showstopper for Raghavendra Rathore. Most of Rathore's collection for IBFW 2013 was dedicated to menswear. He concentrated on presenting some really colourful grooms to us.
Here are the highlights of menswear designs from the Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2013.

Maharaja Of Madrid
Kabir Bedi dressed up as the 'Maharaja Of Madrid' in a wine coloured velvet sherwani that had a sheer lace drape. The designs were inspired from Spanish fans.

Anil Kapoor
Anil Kapoor wore a textured black kurta with a white churidar on Day 3 of IBFW 2013. Raghavendra Rathore added a golden embroidered sleeveless jacket to the outfit to give its a festive look.

Black Velvet Bandgala
JJ Valaya's collection included a variety of velvet outfits. This one was a solid black bandhgala sherwani worn with a basic white churidar.

Spanish Motifs On Bandhgala
The form of this outfit was that of a typical Indian bandhgala sherwani. But the embroidery on it was inspired from Spanish shawls.

Abstract Black Bandhgala Sherwani
Shantanu and Nikhil gave a very abstract look to their costumes. This black bandhgala sherwani teamed up with a pale gold churidar has multi-coloured deatails. The sherwani looks like the canvas of an abstract artist.

All Black Jodhpuri
Meera Muzaffar Ali's theme was 'Awadhi'. That is why, this pinstripped black Jodhpuri suit went well with it.

Brick Red Embroidered Jacket
This brick red full-sleeved jacket from Raghavendra Rathore's collection had Kashmiri embroidery. It was teamed with very bold colours like moss green and navy blue.

Grey Long Kurta
This is one of the innovations in JJ Valaya's collection. This grey kurta is way to long and almost reached the floor. It is teamed up with a white sleeveless waistcoat.

Black Three Piece Sherwani
Usually we hear of three piece suits. But at IBFW 2013 we saw a bandhgala three piece sherwani. First was the kurta, then the waistcoat and finally the long full-sleeved jacket.

Dori Kurta
This kurta from JJ Valaya's collection has just one innovation. It uses the dori strings as an embellishment for the kurta.

Prateik Babbar
Prateik Babbar wore a black velvet sherwani that has golden embroidery on both shoulder blades. It was worn with a black silk churidar in Rina Dhaka's collection.

Glossy Sky Blue Suit
This neon shade of sky blue is rarely used for menswear. However, Raghavendra Rathore made an excellent use of it in his collection.

Blood Red Suit
This blood red suit was also presented on Day 3 of India Bridal Fashion Week 2013. It looks highly unwearable but full marks for visual impact.
