Saif Ali Khan was seen as a romantic hero until the success of 'Dil Chahta Hai'. But after 2001, the doors to being a comic hero were opened to him. He beefed himself up and tried the look of a comic hero in super hit movies like 'Hum Tum', 'Salaam Namaste' And 'Kal Ho Na Ho'. His ragged jeans jackets, head bands, bandanna in 'Hum Tum' and the urbane New Yorker look in "Kal Ho Na Ho' were much appreciated.
