Alia Bhatt's Parandi Perfection! 6 Steps To Accentuate Your Braid With Classic Hair Accessory
Complementing the outfit with the right hairdo is something Alia Bhatt is effortless at! At Ranbir Kapoor's cousin Adar Jain's wedding celebrations, the 'dimpled beauty' sported a quintessential Punjabi Kudi hairdo. Alia styled her tresses in a centre-parted braid hairdo, elevated with a beautiful Bandhani ribbon parandi that added a regal charm to her ethnic avatar!
The Parandi ribbon braid is considered a symbol of femininity and grace in Indian culture. We presume the thought behind sporting this pretty simple yet striking accessory might be straightforward. To add some glamour to your everyday choti look!
Are you game to flaunt this desi-chic hairdo? Then follow these simple steps to flaunt the perfect parandi braid!
Step 1 - Detangle Your Hair
Before you start braiding, make sure that your hair is tangle-free and smooth. Consider using a lightweight hair oil or serum to control frizz and provide shine to them.
If you love adding extra volume to locks, blow-dry the hair or introduce soft waves with a curler before braiding. Well-prepared locks ensure that the braid remains sleek throughout the day.
Step 2 - Part The Locks
To mimic Alia Bhatt's polished braid hairdo, create a middle part. If you like to add a softer touch to your look, a side parting works fine too. After you part the tresses, gather them at the back and divide them into 3 equal sections. Make sure that each section helps form a uniform braid that elevates your chosen look of the day!
Step 3 - Make The Braid
A basic three-strand choti or braid is achieved by keeping the tension equal and firm. Ideally, it shouldn't have that loose or messy touch to it. Braiding the tresses neatly is doable at first go if you frequently tie the hair in braids. But with precision and practice, you can flaunt a neat braid without much effort.
If you feel the hair tends to slip, you can use a styling cream to get that grip while braiding it.
Step 4 - Attach The Parandi
The parandi can be added when you get to the lowest portion of your braid. Blend the linked strands with your hair portions after placing the parandi's looped end into the braid. Until you get to the end, keep interweaving with the parandi entwined. This stage guarantees that the parandi will remain in place and blend in perfectly with your hair, adding a vibrant elegant touch.
Step 5 - Secure The Braid
Use the ornamental thread that comes with the parandi or a sturdy piece of band to tie the end of your braid. To make the braid appear even and create volume, lightly tug on it. Make sure the parandi hangs gracefully without appearing strained or rigid. To achieve a softer, fuller look, if needed, gently tug at certain braid portions.
Step 6 - Add Interesting Touches
Use a hair gel or setting spray to soften down excess strands for a finished appearance. You can embellish your braid with pearls, fresh flowers, or unique pins that go with your ensemble for a more contemporary look. The hairdo can be made even more glitzy and festive by adding delicate hair pins or flowers of your choice!
